Context
Singtel has partnered with NVIDIA to establish a new facility in Singapore dedicated to AI proof-of-concept testing. This collaboration allows enterprises and startups to experiment with advanced generative AI applications using NVIDIA’s latest high-performance chips, such as the H100 and upcoming Blackwell architectures. By lowering the entry barrier for technical experimentation, the initiative aims to accelerate the commercialization of AI services across Southeast Asia while securing a pipeline of long-term enterprise customers.
This move strengthens Singtel’s position as a regional leader in sovereign AI infrastructure. The facility integrates with Singtel’s regional data center brand, Nxera, which is currently expanding its capacity to over 200MW across Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. For investors, this represents a strategic pivot toward high-margin AI infrastructure and cloud services, capitalizing on the regional shortage of high-end GPU computing power and the growing demand for localized data processing.
