TSMC reported February revenue of NT$317,657 million, reflecting a 22.2% increase compared to the previous year, although figures were down 20.8% from the previous quarter.
Context
The world’s leading semiconductor foundry, TSMC, reported consolidated revenue of NT$260.01 billion for February 2025. While this represents a seasonal sequential decrease of 11.3% from January, it marks a significant 43.1% year-over-year growth compared to February 2024. Total revenue for the first two months of 2025 reached NT$553.30 billion, an increase of 39.2% over the same period last year, signaling a robust start to the fiscal year.
This growth is primarily driven by the "golden period" of 3nm process technology, which now accounts for nearly a quarter of the company's total revenue. Sustained demand for AI-related high-performance computing remains the primary catalyst for these gains. To capitalize on this trajectory, TSMC recently announced a massive $100 billion expansion of its U.S. investment and plans to increase its 2026 capital expenditures to a record range of $52 billion to $56 billion.
