Kanadevia is building a new manufacturing facility for electronic boards at its Maizuru plant, targeting applications in semiconductor manufacturing equipment and other sectors.

Context

Kanadevia has launched the construction of a new electronic board production facility at its Maizuru plant in Kyoto to capitalize on the rapid growth of the semiconductor manufacturing equipment and AI sectors. The move aims to streamline the company’s supply chain by consolidating development and production functions, facilitating a faster response to increasing orders for high-performance electronic components and specialized heating units used in advanced chipmaking processes. The initiative represents a total investment of 850 million yen and is projected to increase the facility's annual board production capacity by roughly 70%, from 29,000 to 49,000 sheets. In addition to circuit boards, the site will house a specialized unit factory for carbon nanotube heaters and battery management systems for large-scale energy storage. Operations at the unit factory are slated to begin in April 2026, with the main electronic board facility following in September 2026.
