Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing (JASM), a TSMC majority-owned subsidiary, has officially obtained the ISO 9001 certification. This signifies that the company's quality management system meets international standards.

Context

Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing, Inc. (JASM), TSMC's majority-owned manufacturing subsidiary in Kumamoto, has secured ISO 9001:2015 certification. This quality management system certification, with registration number 50600677 QM15, covers the design and manufacture of Integrated Circuits. The certification was issued by DQS Inc. on November 26, 2025, and is valid until November 25, 2028. This certification is strategically timed as JASM scales up its operations. The company's Kumamoto site is expanding to multi-fab production, with an overall investment exceeding US$20 billion. The first fab is scheduled to begin operation in 2024, and a second fab is targeted to commence operations by the end of 2027. With both fabs, JASM's Kumamoto site is projected to achieve a total production capacity of more than 100,000 12-inch wafers per month. This significant capacity, combined with the new ISO 9001 certification, underscores JASM's commitment to quality as it prepares for a major production ramp-up, serving critical applications in automotive, industrial, consumer, and HPC sectors.
