Nvidia reportedly ramping up Blackwell Ultra chip production

Monday, December 8, 2025 at 03:54 AM

A supply chain watcher reports that Nvidia has begun to increase production of its Blackwell Ultra chips, a key component in AI servers.

Context

Reportedly, Nvidia's Blackwell Ultra (GB300) AI servers have entered production, with initial shipments anticipated in September 2025 and volume production scaling into Q4 2025. This next-generation GPU, a dual-die design boasting 208 billion transistors and up to 288 GB HBM3E per GPU, is central to the future of AI infrastructure. The GB300 NVL72 rack configuration, integrating 72 GPUs and 36 Grace CPUs, is projected to deliver up to a 50x increase in AI factory output performance compared to previous Hopper platforms. This significant production ramp-up by Nvidia underscores the escalating demand for high-performance AI computing, which in turn drives the need for advanced timing solutions. SiTime is well-positioned in this evolving landscape with its specialized products. The SiT5977 Super-TCXO, already in production, offers 3X tighter synchronization and supports 800G network connectivity, critical for the high-speed data transfer required in these powerful AI systems. Furthermore, SiTime's TimeFabric solution provides up to 9X more accurate time synchronization than traditional quartz-based alternatives, thereby enhancing system performance and utilization within AI data centers. As Nvidia expands its Blackwell Ultra deployments, SiTime's innovative timing technology becomes increasingly vital for ensuring the optimal operation and efficiency of these complex AI factories.
