Copper surge ends CCL price war between China and Taiwan, impacting PCB and IC packaging supply chains

Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 03:40 AM

A significant surge in copper prices on the London Metal Exchange, up almost 40% since early 2025, has triggered price increases across the copper-clad laminate (CCL) industry in China and Taiwan. This cost pressure, driven by rising copper foil and glass fiber cloth prices, is forcing manufacturers like Kingboard Holdings, EMC, TUC, Iteq, Nan Ya Plastics, and Ventec International Group to raise prices. The trend is expected to end the previous price-cutting competition among CCL suppliers and lead to more stable pricing.
