ASM International Q4 revenue beats guidance on advanced logic and foundry demand
Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 06:44 AM
ASM International reported fourth-quarter revenue of €698 million, exceeding guidance by 8% despite year-over-year and sequential declines. The revenue upside was primarily attributed to demand in advanced logic and foundry sectors.
Context
ASM International reported preliminary fourth-quarter revenue of €698 million, beating its €630–€660 million guidance. Despite a 13% sequential revenue decline, a massive surge in orders has shifted the investor outlook. Bookings rose 26% quarter-over-quarter to €800 million, driven by strong demand in advanced logic/foundry and spare parts. This momentum, tied to AI infrastructure and the transition to the 2nm node, has pushed the company’s backlog up 9%.
A late-quarter rebound in orders from China provided the primary upside, defying earlier expectations of a regional slowdown. While the company previously anticipated a double-digit decline in Chinese demand for 2026, the current order strength suggests a more stable trajectory moving forward. ASM International now expects CY25 revenue to reach €3.2 billion, an 8% increase year-over-year, and anticipates a healthy revenue increase for the first quarter of 2026 as recent bookings convert.
