Fujitsu's next-generation Arm-based processor, FUJITSU-MONAKA, which is designed for AI servers and data centers, is scheduled for release in 2027 and will feature a 3D many-core chiplet architecture.

Context

Fujitsu is set to launch its next-generation server MPU, code-named Monaka, in 2027. This innovative processor is designed with a 3D chiplet architecture, featuring a 2 nm core die for high performance and low power consumption, paired with a 5 nm SRAM/IO bottom die. This design aims to deliver exceptional energy efficiency, crucial for demanding AI and High-Performance Computing (HPC) workloads in data centers. The initial Monaka MPU will be based on the Armv9-A architecture, incorporating SVE2. Each chip will boast 144 cores, with configurations supporting up to 288 cores in two-socket nodes. It will also feature advanced connectivity and memory support, including 12-channel DDR5 and PCIe 6.0 (CXL 3.0), positioning Fujitsu to meet future demands for high-performance, energy-efficient computing solutions.
