Valens Semiconductor and Imavix Engineering announced the launch of the industry's first production-ready MIPI A-PHY-based platform for machine vision applications, which enables the design of smaller, more robust, and lower-cost industrial cameras. Japanese imaging solutions leader CIS Corporation has already announced the first A-PHY-compliant camera module based on this platform.

Context

On December 2, 2025, Valens Semiconductor and Imavix Engineering announced the first production-ready MIPI A-PHY platform for the machine vision industry. The solution, based on Valens' automotive-grade VA7000 chipset, is designed to displace legacy connectivity standards like USB3 and GigE Vision by offering high-speed, robust data transmission over longer, simpler, and more cost-effective cables. This marks a strategic expansion for Valens beyond its core automotive market into industrial automation and AI. The platform's key innovation is an IP core from Imavix that bridges the A-PHY signal to the common 10Gbps GigE Vision standard, enabling seamless integration with existing industrial PCs. Demonstrating immediate market traction, Japanese imaging leader CIS Corporation has already announced the first A-PHY camera based on the platform, which is less than half the size of typical models. The partners will showcase the new technology at the ITE 2025 conference in Japan from December 3-5.
