Atlas Energy Solutions signs $840 million agreement with Caterpillar to secure 1.4 GW of power equipment for AI and private grids

Atlas Energy Solutions has entered into a global framework agreement with Caterpillar to secure power generation equipment for private grid and behind-the-meter infrastructure. The deal involves approximately 1.4 GW of natural gas reciprocating gensets to be delivered between 2027 and 2029. Atlas has committed to roughly $840 million in purchases to ensure manufacturing capacity and supply certainty. This expansion is driven by the growing power demands of AI infrastructure and manufacturing reshoring which are increasingly straining public grids.
