On March 23, 2026, STMicroelectronics announced the start of mass production and delivery of its STM32 microcontrollers manufactured in China. This localized production is part of a strategic collaboration with domestic foundry Hua Hong Semiconductor, utilizing their 300mm wafer fab in Wuxi. The first batch of STM32 wafers fully produced at the site has already been delivered to customers, marking a major milestone in ST's global supply chain diversification and its commitment to the Chinese market.
This move specifically targets the high-performance STM32H7 series initially, with plans to expand local volume production to secure and entry-level families later in 2026.
