Rohde & Schwarz is strengthening its partnership with Granite River Labs and Analog Devices to support the development and global adoption of the OpenGMSL standard for automotive gigabit multimedia serial links.

Context

Rohde & Schwarz has expanded its strategic partnership with Analog Devices (ADI) and Granite River Labs (GRL) in Japan to accelerate the validation of next-generation automotive semiconductors. This collaboration focuses on high-speed digital interface testing for ADI’s Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL) technology, a critical component for high-resolution video data in Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and in-vehicle infotainment. By leveraging Rohde & Schwarz’s specialized test equipment and GRL’s certification expertise, the partnership aims to shift complex evaluations from the track to the lab, significantly reducing development cycles. The initiative comes as GMSL emerges as a de facto industry standard for automotive connectivity, necessitating rigorous compliance with global safety protocols. Rohde & Schwarz, which reported net revenue of €3.16 billion for the 2024/2025 fiscal year, is providing advanced oscilloscope and network analyzer solutions to ensure signal integrity across the automotive supply chain. This move strengthens ADI’s position in the Japanese market, where automakers are increasingly prioritizing software-defined vehicle architectures and autonomous driving capabilities heading into 2026.
