MediaTek achieves record annual revenue driven by flagship mobile chips and ASIC expansion
Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 12:03 AM
MediaTek reported record annual revenue of 595.9 billion TWD for the previous fiscal year, driven by strong demand for flagship mobile chips and diversification into high-growth segments. The company is targeting 1 billion USD in cloud ASIC revenue by 2026 and recently unveiled its Filogic 8000 series WiFi 8 platform at CES. Despite the mobile market stabilization, MediaTek expects continued growth through product portfolio optimization and expansion into automotive and custom silicon (ASIC) markets.
Context
MediaTek achieved record annual revenue for 2025, reaching NT$595.96 billion, a 12.3% year-over-year increase. This growth was primarily fueled by the strong performance of its flagship Dimensity 9500 mobile chips, which generated over $3 billion in sales and saw an annual growth rate exceeding 40%. The company’s fourth-quarter revenue of NT$150.19 billion slightly exceeded the upper limit of its previous guidance, demonstrating high demand for premium silicon despite broader market stabilization.
Looking ahead, MediaTek is aggressively diversifying into AI infrastructure and high-speed connectivity. A central pillar of this strategy is the expansion of its ASIC business, with leadership targeting $1 billion in cloud-related revenue by 2026. While the stock recently faced institutional selling following its dividend date, the firm’s roadmap—highlighted by the launch of the Filogic 8000 WiFi 8 platform and a shift toward high-margin custom chips—positions it as an essential supplier in the evolving AI and automotive supply chains.
