Revenue for Taiwan's top six AI server manufacturers increased 56% year-on-year in January, reaching NT$1.37 trillion. This growth is driven by increased shipment volumes of Nvidia GB300 servers, marking the highest monthly growth rate since February of the previous year.

Context

Taiwanese ODMs Quanta, MiTAC, and Compal reported surging January revenues, signaling that the AI server super-cycle is successfully offsetting seasonal weakness in traditional electronics. Quanta led the sector with revenue of NT$230.84 billion, a 61.9% year-over-year increase, driven by heavy shipments of the GB300 liquid-cooled platform. MiTAC also maintained momentum with NT$10.27 billion in revenue, up 34.25% from last year, as demand from hyperscale providers remains relentless across its expanding facilities in the US and Vietnam. This growth trajectory highlights a fundamental shift toward AI-centric hardware. Sunny Optical recently issued a positive profit alert, forecasting up to a 75% profit surge for FY2025 as the hardware market recovers. Compal expects AI-integrated PCs to reach 50% to 60% of its laptop sales this year, while Quanta projects triple-digit growth in its server segment. With the next-generation Rubin platform shipping in August, the industry is positioning for a sustained expansion cycle through 2027.
