Taiwanese wafer makers see recovering demand, anticipate price increases as AI drives growth

Monday, January 12, 2026 at 04:21 AM

Major Taiwanese silicon wafer manufacturers, including GlobalWafers, Taishin Semiconductor, and Wafer Works, are observing increased demand for silicon wafers, especially for AI-related applications and advanced processes. While shipment volumes have recovered, prices have not yet fully reflected this improvement due to simultaneous supply increases from companies like GlobalFoundries and Bosch. Manufacturers anticipate price increases will gradually materialize as demand and supply converge.
