Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 02:37 AM

Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron are reportedly tightening order controls and requesting final customer and volume disclosures to prevent stockpiling and over-ordering amidst continued memory chip shortages. This is impacting consumer electronics and potentially the automotive sector, with some manufacturers salvaging older chips or redesigning products to mitigate constraints. SK Hynix and Samsung have both reported significant reductions in DRAM and NAND inventory.
