Anritsu has developed and launched an "industry-first" multi-channel fiber tester specifically designed for evaluating next-generation communication optical fibers, indicating a new technology launch.

Context

On November 21, 2025, Anritsu launched the MT9100A, an industry-first multi-channel fiber tester designed for the next generation of optical networks. Developed to address the data explosion from AI and cloud computing, this device is the first of its kind that can simultaneously evaluate up to four cores in advanced multi-core fibers. The tester measures critical quality parameters like transmission loss, reflectance, and inter-core crosstalk from a single end of the cable, significantly streamlining the complex inspection process for network deployment and manufacturing. This product is crucial for investors as it provides a key solution for a major bottleneck in scaling data infrastructure. Multi-core fiber is the leading technology to overcome the capacity limits of current networks, enabling future 800G and 1.6T systems. By automating and accelerating quality assurance for fiber manufacturers and network builders, Anritsu solidifies its role as an essential enabler in the AI supply chain. The product is now available for sale in Japan, positioning the company to capitalize on the build-out of next-generation communication infrastructure.
