Honeywell CEO Vimal Kapur says every precision-guided missile contains Honeywell navigational products
Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 06:00 PM
Honeywell CEO Vimal Kapur stated that the company's navigational products are integrated into every precision-guided missile and munition currently produced. This highlights Honeywell's critical role in the defense supply chain for precision electronics and sensors.
Context
At the March 2026 Bank of America Global Industrials Conference, Honeywell CEO Vimal Kapur confirmed the company's absolute dominance in the defense sector, stating that every precision-guided missile or munition currently in use contains Honeywell navigational products. This ubiquity is supported by the delivery of over 1 million tactical-grade Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) to date. The company is doubling down on this lead with a $500 million investment to modernize and expand military technology production as part of a multiyear Department of Defense framework agreement.
This growth in defense demand arrives as Honeywell prepares for a major structural shift: the spin-off of its Aerospace Technologies business into an independent company, now accelerated for completion in Q3 2026. While the firm faces near-term shipping delays in the Middle East due to regional conflict, its backlog has reached a record $37 billion. For 2026, the company expects total sales between $38.8 billion and $39.8 billion, representing organic growth of 3% to 6%.
