Infineon Announces New High-Precision Coreless Current Sensors

Monday, December 1, 2025 at 07:40 AM

Infineon has launched two new high-precision magnetic coreless current sensors, the XENSIV TLE4971 and TLI4971, expanding its portfolio for current measurement applications.

Context

On October 20, 2025, Infineon launched its XENSIV TLE4971 and TLI4971 coreless magnetic current sensors, claiming the highest accuracy on the market with a total error of only 0.7% over temperature and lifetime. Housed in a compact 8x8 mm package, these sensors support bi-directional AC/DC current measurement up to ±120A with a bandwidth of up to 240 kHz. The coreless design eliminates hysteresis and saturation effects common in other solutions, while an integrated current rail with low resistance (220 µΩ) minimizes power loss. This launch is significant as high-precision sensing is critical for the efficiency and safety of next-generation power electronics, especially those using wide-bandgap SiC and GaN semiconductors. The TLE4971 is designed for automotive applications like on-board chargers and high-voltage drives, while the TLI4971 targets industrial uses such as solar inverters and DC fast charging stations. The entire sensor family is available for order now, positioning Infineon to immediately address demand in the rapidly growing EV and renewable energy markets.
