Matsumura Corp. and Hanamaki City sign agreement for new semiconductor equipment parts factory

Matsumura Corp. has signed a location agreement with Hanamaki City to construct a new manufacturing facility. The planned factory will produce components used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, signifying a CapEx and capacity expansion.
Context
Matsumura, a company specializing in special welding and precision machining, and Hanamaki City officially signed a corporate site agreement on December 2, 2025. This strategic partnership will see Matsumura establish a new factory within the Kanan industrial park, dedicated to manufacturing critical parts for semiconductor production equipment. This move underscores the ongoing expansion in the semiconductor supply chain.
The planned facility represents a significant investment, with Matsumura committing approximately 800 million JPY for its development. The factory will occupy a site area of about 3,300 m², with a building footprint of approximately 1,000 m². Operations are slated to commence in May 2028, initially employing 15 individuals, with plans to expand the workforce to 55 employees over time. This expansion highlights the growing demand for specialized components in the global semiconductor industry.
