A product roadmap for Nvidia identifies upcoming projects or codenames designated as LP35, LP40, and Rosa, indicating potential future hardware cycles.
Context
At the GTC 2026 keynote, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang detailed the company's aggressive annual release cycle, unveiling several next-generation components. The roadmap highlights the LP35, a brand-new chip taping out as part of the Rubin Ultra generation. The LP35 is significant for being the first to incorporate the NVFP4 computing structure, which is expected to deliver a multi-factor speed-up in processing.
Looking further ahead to the Feynman architecture slated for 2028, Nvidia introduced the LP40, a new Language Processing Unit (LPU) developed in collaboration with the Groq team. This generation also features Rosa (short for Rosalind), a next-generation CPU designed to work alongside the BlueField-5 data processing unit and CX10 SuperNIC.
These developments reinforce Nvidia's strategy of scaling both copper and optical interconnects. The upcoming VR NVL144 CPX configuration aims for 8 ExaFLOPS of NVFP4 compute, a 7.5x improvement over current systems, with availability targeted for late 2026. This expansion is supported by strategic infrastructure blueprints developed with partners like Siemens and Schneider Electric to build gigawatt-scale AI factories.
