Meta has entered into a major 5-year agreement with AI cloud provider Nebius Group for the supply of AI infrastructure powered by NVIDIA Vera Rubin platforms. Starting in early 2027, Nebius will provide $12 billion in dedicated capacity across multiple locations. Additionally, Meta has committed $15 billion for additional computing power over the next five years, bringing the total contract value to approximately $27 billion. This signals a strategic shift for Meta towards utilizing NVIDIA-based CPU/GPU architectures at scale.

Context

AI cloud provider Nebius Group (NBIS) has secured a landmark five-year agreement with Meta valued at up to $27 billion to supply large-scale AI infrastructure. The deal includes $12 billion in dedicated capacity across multiple sites and an additional $15 billion commitment for compute power from upcoming clusters. This partnership marks one of the first major deployments of the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform, which features the new Vera CPU and Rubin GPU architecture. Capacity delivery is scheduled to begin in early 2027, following NVIDIA's recent $2 billion strategic investment in Nebius to develop over 5 gigawatts of AI data center capacity. This massive contract underscores the aggressive infrastructure spending by hyperscalers, with Meta and its peers projected to invest $650 billion in 2026. Arkady Volozh, founder and CEO of Nebius, stated in the company's official announcement: "We are pleased to expand our significant partnership with Meta as part of securing more large, long-term capacity contracts to accelerate the build-out and growth of our core AI cloud business.
