SoftBank Group has finalized the acquisition of semiconductor design company Ampere Computing Holdings, a move intended to integrate Ampere's expertise in developing and taping out ARM-based chips with the design capabilities of Arm Holdings. This strategic purchase of a key player in high-performance, energy-efficient AI compute strengthens SoftBank's overall AI strategy.
