The roadmap includes $17.5 billion dedicated to India and follows $8 billion in data center spending over the last fiscal year. These investments prioritize localizing cloud capacity to meet data residency needs and support sovereign AI development. Beyond hardware, Microsoft intends to connect 250 million people to the internet and provide AI training to 20 million workers in India by the end of the decade.
