A subsidiary of Seiren is constructing a new factory for high-performance semiconductor materials to meet increasing global demand. The company expects to double its sales to 6 billion yen by 2030 through this capacity expansion.

Context

Seiren is expanding its semiconductor footprint through its subsidiary, Seiren Advanced Materials, which has broken ground on a new high-performance silicon wafer factory in Fukui. This facility is designed to meet the intensifying global demand for substrates essential to AI data centers and high-speed communications. By scaling production of specialized wafers, the company aims to support the infrastructure required for large-capacity data processing and advanced smartphone sensors, diversifying its portfolio into high-growth technology sectors. The project involves an investment of approximately 4.35 billion yen, with construction slated for completion by May 2027. This expansion is expected to be a major revenue driver, with the company projecting that sales from this segment will double to more than 6 billion yen by 2030. By securing this capacity, Seiren is positioning itself to capitalize on the sustained hardware requirements of the AI era and the rollout of next-generation network infrastructure through the end of the decade.
