AMD is aggressively expanding its AI footprint for the upcoming MI450 platform, part of the next-generation MI400 series launching in the second half of 2026. Industry leaders including OpenAI, Oracle, Meta, and xAI are reportedly adopting the new architecture to diversify their hardware supply and mitigate reliance on Nvidia. Notably, OpenAI has signed a multi-year agreement to deploy 6 gigawatts of compute across AMD’s roadmap, while Oracle plans to launch the first public AI supercluster featuring 50,000 of these GPUs by Q3 2026.
