PC manufacturers are reporting supply constraints for Intel's upcoming Panther Lake processors. While Intel is reportedly prioritizing server chip production, which may be impacting the availability of PC-oriented silicon, OEMs are expressing concern over the allocation of these next-generation units.

Intel is currently facing supply constraints for its Panther Lake (Core Ultra Series 3) processors as the company prioritizes 18A production capacity for its Xeon 6+ server chips. Reports from PC OEMs indicate that consumer laptop availability may be limited in early 2026 because Intel is reallocating internal foundry resources to meet surging demand for high-margin data center products. While Panther Lake began high-volume production at Fab 52 in Arizona in late 2025, the initial ramp is being carefully managed to support enterprise AI infrastructure first.
This shift highlights the ongoing capacity crunch at Intel Foundry as it transitions to the 18A node. Although consumer pre-orders are scheduled to begin January 6, 2026, analysts warn that low-end and mid-range PC segments may face the steepest shortages. Intel is focusing its limited client-side supply on high-end parts while pushing excess wafer capacity toward Xeon processors to maximize profitability amidst rising competition in the AI server market.
