China is reportedly mandating that domestic chipmakers use 50% domestically produced equipment, with a long-term goal of 100%. Naura, a Chinese equipment supplier, is testing its etching tools on SMIC's 7nm process and has successfully deployed them in 14nm processes. Naura also supplies advanced etching tools for 300+ layer-class technology to memory chipmakers like YMTC.
