NVIDIA has reportedly invested $2 billion in Marvell as part of a strategic partnership to integrate Marvell into the NVIDIA AI factory and AI-RAN ecosystem. Under the deal, Marvell will supply custom XPUs and scale-up networking components compatible with NVLink Fusion technology.

Context

On March 31, 2026, NVIDIA announced a strategic $2 billion investment in Marvell Technology to accelerate the development of next-generation AI and telecommunications infrastructure. This partnership integrates Marvell into the NVIDIA AI factory and AI-RAN (Radio Access Network) ecosystems via NVLink Fusion technology. By combining Marvell’s custom XPUs and scale-up networking solutions with NVIDIA’s compute stack, the deal enables hyperscalers to build heterogeneous, semi-custom AI data centers that remain fully compatible with NVIDIA’s proprietary interconnects. The collaboration specifically targets the surging demand for token generation and the transformation of 5G/6G networks into AI-driven infrastructure. Beyond hardware integration, the two companies will co-develop advanced silicon photonics and optical interconnect solutions to solve scaling bottlenecks. This move follows a series of similar multi-billion dollar investments by NVIDIA into key supply chain partners and sent Marvell shares up more than 11% on the news.
