Credo Weaver gearbox achieves high memory IO density for Positron interface
Monday, March 2, 2026 at 10:23 PM
Credo Technology reported that its Weaver gearbox technology achieves ten times the memory IO density. Additionally, Positron is utilizing the technology to build a 2TB interface solution.
Context
Credo Technology Group ($CRDO) recently confirmed a major design win for its Weaver memory fanout gearbox with Positron, which is utilizing the technology to develop a 2TB AI inference engine. The Weaver gearbox achieves a 10x increase in memory I/O density and enables up to 16TB/s of bandwidth using standard LPDDR5X memory. By bypassing the supply and cost constraints of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), Credo provides a scalable solution for memory-intensive workloads like real-time AI video generation and autonomous driving.
While Weaver revenue is expected to begin scaling in fiscal 2028, Credo is already seeing explosive growth from its core connectivity portfolio. The company preannounced Q3 FY26 revenue of $404 million to $408 million, significantly beating its original $335 million to $345 million guidance. Management now projects more than 200% year-over-year revenue growth for the full fiscal year, signaling massive momentum in the AI data center supply chain.
