Mayor Kazuhisa Takeuchi of Kitakyushu visited ASE (Advanced Semiconductor Engineering) in Taiwan this week to solidify a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the regional semiconductor supply chain. As the world’s largest provider of outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) services, ASE is a critical partner for Japan as it revitalizes its domestic chip industry.
