Alphabet reported that its Gemini models now process over 10 billion tokens per minute via direct API usage, a major milestone disclosed during the Q4 2025 earnings report on February 4, 2026. This processing volume represents a 43% sequential increase from the 7 billion tokens per minute handled in the prior quarter. The surge highlights accelerating enterprise adoption as Google scales its generative AI infrastructure to meet the demands of high-volume API customers.
This growth is a key driver for Google Cloud, which saw revenues jump 48% to $17.7 billion this quarter. To sustain this momentum, Alphabet has projected its 2026 capital expenditures will reach between $175 billion and $185 billion. These funds are primarily earmarked for AI-specialized hardware and data center expansion to support Gemini 3 and the company’s broader shift toward agentic AI applications across its global ecosystem.
