Micron's $24 billion singapore NAND expansion to boost taiwanese engineering firms
Micron announced a $24 billion investment over 10 years to expand NAND flash memory production in Singapore, with new capacity expected to come online in 2028. This investment is primarily for equipment and factory facilities. Taiwanese semiconductor factory engineering firms Asia Optical (亞翔) and Yankee Engineering (洋基工程) are expected to benefit significantly from this expansion. Asia Optical, with its strong presence in Singapore and prior work on Micron's HBM packaging plant, is projected to be the largest recipient of contracts for this new NAND factory. Yankee Engineering, having recently entered Micron's supply chain for a turnkey project in Taiwan, is also poised to secure more orders as Micron plans expansions in its Taiwanese fabs.
