OKI has launched a comprehensive EMS service for AI server equipment, leveraging proprietary high-heat dissipation technologies. The service includes high-density mounting for large, high-layer count PCBs used in AI semiconductors. It features 'copper coin embedded PCB technology' alongside advanced simulation and manufacturing processes to address thermal management challenges in AI infrastructure.

Context

On March 25, 2026, Japanese electronics leader OKI Electric Industry (6703:TYO) launched a comprehensive Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) platform specifically for the AI server market. This move transitions the company's proprietary thermal management technologies, originally developed for the JAXA aerospace standards and vacuum environments, into the high-growth data center segment. The service targets the critical thermal bottlenecks of generative AI, where power densities now require advanced vertical heat dissipation pathways. The core of the offering is OKI's proprietary copper coin embedded PCB technology, which can provide up to 55 times better heat dissipation than conventional boards. This technology is paired with high-density mounting capabilities for large-scale multi-layer PCBs that support AI semiconductors with over 10,000 pins. By offering a full-cycle solution from simulation and design to system assembly and high-precision reworking, OKI is targeting JPY 1 billion in sales for FY2026 as it positions itself as a key specialized manufacturer in the global AI supply chain.
