Nippon Express discusses semiconductor logistics infrastructure development with Indian government

Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 06:40 AM

Nippon Express has entered into discussions with Indian government agencies to establish and enhance logistics infrastructure specifically tailored for the burgeoning semiconductor industry in India.

Context

Nippon Express Holdings is positioning itself as a primary logistics architect for India's emerging chip industry through a new strategic partnership with the India Semiconductor Mission. Following high-level meetings in late December 2025, the company is advancing plans to build a world-class semiconductor logistics hub in the Dholera Special Investment Region. This facility will provide critical infrastructure for the $11 billion Tata-PSMC mega fab as India prepares to launch its first commercial chip production lines in 2026. This move is central to the NX Group's target to triple its Indian revenue to ¥60 billion (approximately $400 million) by 2028. By collaborating with Nagase & Co. to manage high-sensitivity materials and front-end chemicals, Nippon Express is addressing a critical gap in the domestic supply chain. The partnership underscores the massive scale of India's $90 billion semiconductor roadmap and the significant infrastructure opportunities emerging as global manufacturers shift operations to the region.
